Club History

The Salisbury Bowls Club Inc. has been at its present location since 1976 when it was relocated from a site some 2Km away.

It was then known as the EDCO bowls club, this name having come from the Evans Deakin company who had given their employees permission to use company land to start a bowling club in 1942.

The committee obtained a lease on council land at Salisbury and built new greens and a clubhouse which was officially opened on September 27th 1976.

In October 1984 the club changed its name from "EDCO" to "Salisbury" so as to be fully identified as part of the now booming suburb of the same name.

Today the club boasts two of the best tif-dwarf greens in Brisbane and has lights to enable night bowls to be held.
